*Lecture Text Recommended: G. C. Kent and R. K. Carr. 2001. Comparative Anatomy of the Vertebrates, 9th Edition. Available at University Book Store. Buying the text can significantly improve your performance on exams.

Additional Aids:
Course Web Site will post lecture notes (handouts and overheads) for each 4 week block so you can download and print your own copies before class. Notes are provided for your convenience but are not a substitute for class attendance.  Bring appropriate handouts/overheads to every class.

Site: http://www.zoology.wisc.edu/courses/430/430home.html

Course Structure: Exams will emphasize material from lecture. Make-up exams will not be offered unless you were sick.

Grading: Four lecture exams, @ 150 points each. Lecture exam questions will be multiple choice. Your final course grade will be based on your % out of 1200 points (600 each for lecture and lab). The grading scale in this class is not fixed (no curve) and varies from year to year. In previous years, grades tended to break down as follows: A = above 87%; AB = above 84%; B = above 78%; BC = above 73%; C = above 60%.

We do consider special circumstances, such as evidence for improvement.
