As a senior majoring in Anthropology and Biological Aspects of Conservation, my research interests lie in the way humans adapt to different environments, both behaviorally and physically.  Specifically, I am studying the mechanisms of human locomotion and how they have changed throughout our evolutionary history.  In the last year, I have been collecting data comparing the energetic requirements of women walking with an infant in their arms versus in a carrier such as a sling.  The possibility of an energetic advantage for those women using tools to aid in infant transport may have implications for the archaeological record.  I hope to continue to explore different areas of human-environment relations, as well as the field of science communication.  In the future, I would like to try museum work, environmental education, or science writing.
