Declaring a Zoology Major

You are encouraged to declare your zoology major by the end of sophomore/beginning of junior year.  Doing so gets you connected with departmental and faculty advisors, gets you "in the loop" on important information and opportunities, earns you a group of dedicated staff to be your advocates, and gives you a "home base" from which to operate.

Declaration Process:

Meet with undergraduate advisor (Shannon Schoolmeesters), to go over requirements, future and curriculum planning, any questions you may have, complete paperwork, and to be assigned a faculty advisor.

Get started by:
     scheduling an advising appointment with Shannon;
     and considering which faculty advisor you think would be a good match based on your interests

If you change your plans, you may drop the zoology major.  See Shannon Schoolmeesters to drop the major.

*If you are not currently in L&S and you plan on majoring in zoology only, you need to be admitted to L&S before you can declare. Go to 70 Bascom or call 262-0167 for instructions.

**If you are not currently in L&S and you want zoology to be your second major, you'll need approval from your first major/college to add this major.  See your advisor for instructions.
