- Zoology Museum Tour
Monday, Oct 15 at 5:45pm. Meet at 2nd Floor Noland Entrance
Did you know there was a zoology museum on the 4th floor of Noland? This floor
is home to many collections of organisms,
from birds to large mammals. Come join UZS for a behind-the-scenes tour and check
out skeletons, stuff in jars, and preserved
whole animals. Learn about the museum's history and collections. In addition,
you will learn about opprotunities to volunteer or
recieve academic credit. This should be educational as well as fun, so make sure
you pop by!

Volunteers will serve as ushers, hand out tickets, set-up, and
other micellaneous tasks. During our shift, we will also get to
view part of the film 'From Frozen Toes to Happy Feet:The Truth About
Penguins' (which starts at 11:00am). If you'd like to
volunteer and/or view the film with other UZS members, please email
me, Morgan, by next Friday, October 26th to get signed
up.
Also, volunteers at this event get Snacks AND a 'Tales From Planet
Earth' poster, just for coming to help out!

- Crane Foundation Trip. Oct 15.
This Sunday
(October 15th) we are going to the International
Crane Foundation (http://www.savingcranes.org/)
in Baraboo, WI. The International Crane Foundation or
ICF "works worldwide to conserve cranes and the wetlands
and grassland ecosystems on which they depend". Everything
is FREE: transportation, entrance fees, and
tour. We will meet at Noland at 11:45 am at
the loading dock (the little drive way off of Mills St. by the
bus stop). We will depart for the ICF at noon (exactly,
so don't be late) and arrive at ICF around 1:00 pm. The
tour begins at 1:30 pm and ends at 3:30 pm. We will depart
for campus around 4:00 pm and arrive back at Noland around 5:00
pm. Space is limited, so please respond ASAP is you want
a spot. Email Lisa (lkmichl@wisc.edu )
